There will be 500,000+ persons on the autism spectrum aging into adulthood over the next 10 years. Yet 85% of autistic college graduates are unemployed. To change this trend, it is important for companies, educators, families, and others to understand the value of neurodiversity and how to support neurodiverse people. Successful efforts provide specialized training to support neurodiverse employees - tapping into their talents and skills - and train neurotypical staff to create an inclusive and welcoming culture.
