This workshop will ask the participants to explore and re-visit familiar, healthy, and effective personal coping strategies as a means of managing the stress caused by the pandemic. Participants will gain a refreshed understanding of those and the benefit to utilizing those tools to cope with the current stress of the Coronavirus 19 Pandemic. This presentation will provide a brief overview of trauma and the impact of sudden change associated with the experience of the pandemic. There are many healthy strategies, some based in mindfulness practices for example that people employ to manage trauma, sudden change, and loss common in everyday life. It is helpful and even important to reconnect to familiar strategies and develop a personal plan to recover. This discussion will encourage the participant to actively overhaul those strategies and implement them for use in managing the impact the pandemic has had in their life.
