The College and Career Readiness Institute (CCRI) is designed to showcase local alignment initiatives and innovative practices focused on remedial/developmental education reform, academic innovation, and curriculum alignment and partnerships between secondary and postsecondary institutions.

Disability Employment Initiative

Since 2010, the US Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration and the Office of Disability Employment Policy have jointly funded and administered the Disability Employment Initiative (DEI). DEI is designed to help states implement strategic approaches for exemplary employment services to individuals with disabilities in the public workforce system.  DEI projects are intended to support extensive partnerships, collaboration and service coordination across multiple workforce, education, and disability systems in each state.  As part of their commitment to assist individuals with disabilities in reaching their career, employment, and training goals, The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (Commerce) executes DEI through coordination with and support of state, regional, and local partners.


Dual Credit

The Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) plays a pivotal role in overseeing the development, delivery, and evaluation of dual credit across the State.  ICCB works collaboratively with secondary and postsecondary stakeholders to expand student access to higher education while simultaneously maintaining the high academic standards expected of the Illinois community college system.

The Illinois Community College Board’s STEM College and Career Readiness (CCR) project uses targeted interventions that include instruction, academic and student support services, and curriculum alignment to advance the development and implementation of Programs of Study in key STEM application areas

Workforce Education Strategic Plan

The Professional Development Network ensures community college Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs continue to focus effectively on student outcomes, strengthen the connections between secondary and postsecondary education, and improve program accountability.  The Network was develop as an ongoing professional development platform for community college Career and Technical Education administrators, coordinators, and faculty.
