Guidance Standard
1. The educational entity should offer counseling and assessment activities in a
non-discriminatory
manner.
A. Does the educational entity ensure that students with disabilities are not counseled
toward more restrictive career objectives than non-disabled students with similar abilities and interests?
B. Do the guidance plan, policy, and procedures ensure non-discrimination?
C. Does the assessment plan ensure non-discrimination?
D. Does the educational entity ensure that counselors do not measure or predict a student’s
prospects for success in any career or program, based upon the student’s
race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age?
