Requirements of New Look SP Award
In FY13, financial awards will be available only to Illinois community colleges. Secondary sites may partner with postsecondary sites; however, the postsecondary sites should be listed as the primary applicants and fiscal agents. Applicants are expected to listen to the August 23, 2012 webinar or its archived version. Attendance at the New Look Showcase Symposium, May 9, 2013 in Normal, Illinois is required. Travel expenses to the Showcase Symposium may be included in the application budget.
The FY13 New Look Project has a renewed emphasis on economically disadvantaged learners, single parents, displaced homemakers, individuals with disabilities and English language learners. Projects which are focused on nontraditional learners can participate in the i-GO (Illinois Gender Outcomes) Project. Email lcreha@ilstu.edu for more information about the i-GO Project. .

For consideration, applicants must follow the form provided and complete the budget worksheet.
Budgets should total between $500 and $3500, depending on scope of activity. Please align your budget to Acceptable Uses of Funds.

The New Look Informational Webinar, providing information on New Look Project and application process will be presented on August 23, 2012. Participation in the webinar or its archived format is required.
Only Illinois postsecondary educational entities receiving Perkins funds are eligible applicants.
All accepted applicants must be present at the New Look Showcase Symposium, May 9, 2013.
Special consideration will be given to applications which
include a presentation at a State-wide or regional conference in the plan.
Have a secondary/postsecondary partnership.

Projects whose goal is to improve services to CTE special populations learners should apply for a New Look SP Award. The CTE special populations include the following: individuals with disabilities, economically disadvantaged, English language learners, single parents, and displaced homemakers. Projects improving services to learners preparing combination of the special popuations listed above AND learners preparing for nontraditional careers are also eligible.
Projects whose primary goal is to improve services to learners preparing for careers which are nontraditional for gender participante in the i-GO (Illinois Gender Outcomes) project. The i-GO project provides technical assistance to Illinois community colleges which seek to improve services for NTO learners with the goal of impacting the Perkins Core Indicators.
