What Constitutes College-text Readiness At Your Institution? One College’s Cross-Discipline Audit

This presentation will describe a cross-discipline curriculum audit at Joliet Junior College to determine what constitutes college-level reading readiness at the College. This presentation examines the text expectations for introductory-level general education and CTE courses. While simultaneously exploring the curricula in the developmental reading courses, the alignment of skills and competencies across these courses can be checked. The goal of this session is to provide attendees with a possible model for pursuing such an audit at their institution.
